Happy Birthday to Me !!

Today Is 10 th October.. My Birthday.. and also my twin shrikant's birthday, strange isn't it? :)
It started of late last nite , with a great birthday wish from my friends..
We sat in a local cafe, these guys had got cake, Both of us cut the cake with a single knife..
It was nice tasty chocolate cake.
We had loads of fun chit chatting , cracking the usual stupid jokes , pulling each other's legs.
Well since today morning im stuck to my phone, receiving all the bday wishes..
It feels Great for a Single Day every year. .U become the Center of Attraction. :)
I so wanna booze today, but all my friends r busy so mite go out during the weekend..

• Hmm.. its so difficult to think something, when u really wanna think.
• Haven't been on a date since long time
• Have to finish studying some topics of surgery today
• Arsenal r doing great this time in EPL
• My bday on 10th, wht kinda gifts will i get, i hope they're some useful stuff.
• Bday also the day when u get ripped, not the most glamarous part of one's bday :)
• Have to reduce some weight.
  
• Shit the T.V is so loud , cant think..

• Everyday some new ideas pops up in my mind, but im too lazy to materialise them.

• I wanna get some good scores this time in my exams..
• Feel like running from this tension filled life, run to some virgin islands which has only gals, like the AXE commercial. well thts too much to ask i guess. Will be difficult to handle, wont be tht fun.
• Gosh im hungry now, wanna munch something.
• Not earning much from adsense, tht sucks.. Have to get some professional website.well ive started a site totally on medicine, lets see if it pays --> My Medical reviews
  
• Thinking of sporting a beard. tired of good boy looks..
• Have to call some old friends, been such a long time. Everyone might be pissed off for not keepin tuch. Well thts how I am.

So what is FMORT?

FMORT stands for Five Minutes of Random Thoughts. It is a byproduct of a wild whim that played in my mind during one of my day dreaming sessions. In an attempt to bring something productive out of it, I thought of giving it a shape. It is fun to read what people think, when they are asked to think for five minutes of allotted time.

Steps to follow:

1. Get an alarm/stop watch, piece of paper, pen.
   
2. Set the alarm to ring 5 minutes 10 secs later.
3. Take deep breath for 10 secs.
4. Now, set your mind free.
5. Scribble whatever comes to your mind on the paper for 5 minutes.
6. After 5 minutes, tweak the scribbles into meaningful sentences.
7. Post it to your blog.
• The title should be, "My FMORT". Dont expand FMORT in the title as the purpose is to popularize FMORT.
• The first line should read, "I am tagged by XYZ", where XYZ should be the name of the blog who asked you to tag and link XYZ to the post.
  
• Then ask a fellow blogger to do the same and link to your post.
8. Now sit back and relax. You would be amazed at the speed with which FMORT spreads.And you will be one link of the long chain on Internet.

New Hope for Diabetics !!

Gastric Bypass Surgery which has been a boon for all the severely Obese people, has found to have long term benefits in Type 2 Diabetes Patients too.
Gastric bypass surgery, a type of bariatric surgery (weight loss surgery), is a surgical procedure that alters the process of digestion. Bariatric surgery is the only option today that effectively treats morbid obesity in people for whom more conservative measures such as diet, exercise, and medication have failed. Usually done is a procedure called Roux-en-Y Gastric bypass.
Though it is a major surgery and one has to weigh the risks of surgery and post-operative care before going for such a major surgery, it has good long term benefits in:

• persons with a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than 40
  
• men who are 100 pounds over their ideal body weight or women who are 80 pounds over their ideal body weight
  
• persons with a BMI between 35 and 40 who have another condition such as obesity-related type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea, or heart diseaseP

Procedure:
In this surgery, the size of stomach and small intestine are reduced, which leads to decreased demand for food leading to loss of weight. In the metabolic surgery for Type 2 Diabetes mellitus, technique is same but difference is alteration of length of small intestine without any alteration in stomach.
Mechanism of Action:
When the Small intestine's length is reduced, A portion of small intestine which has never been exposed to raw food, comes in contact with it. This leads to certain beneficial hormonal changes, which stimulates pancreas to secrete Insulin ( hormone implicated in causation of diabetes). This holds good for diabetes type 2 where there is atleast some insulin producing cells in pancreas. Whereas in type 1 , there is complete absence of insulin producing cells, so only treatment in that case is externally given insulin.
Many Experts say this surgery not only reduces the problem of Obesity, but also gives a better control of Blood Sugar, Cholesterol, Triglycerides etc. indicating having a role in arresting or delaying the progression of Chronic Diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart Disease.
According to some researchers, this surgery has found to be useful not only in Obese diabetics, but also in moderate to normal weight patients. For some patients it has been completely curative, and for many there has been drastic improvement in survival and quality of Life.
Well on the Other hand, Risks of a major surgery always prevail.

Shameful Act !!!

In the recent event of Arrival of Indian Cricket Team to Mumbai. They were on a drive in a bus from the Airport to Wankhede stadium for felicitation. The frantic Indian cricket fans in Mumbai came from all parts of the city to see the cricket team. There were thousands of people gathered at every nook and corner of the road.
There has been a incident of molestation on 2 college girls who were there too see the team. They were mishandled, groped and pushed by the whole mob. One among them even fell in a ditch. Its really disheartening to see some men behaving so cheaply. I mean how can do such thing to young girls. When such a incident occurs to their sister or mother then these people will understand. This is just 1 incident, the poor girls even after such a trauma, they had the courage to go and complain. There might have been so many incidents unreported. This is always a problem in our country. Whenever there is any huge crowd, such incidents happen all the time, all of them go unnoticed. Such people should be given very strict punishment.
Mumbai was supposed to be among the safest city in India, but such incidents makes me not so proud to be part of this city. Stand up against this kinda unsocial behavior.

The Whole tournament was a great hit . Each and every moment of India's game in the tournament was awesome, May it be Yuvraj's 6 sixes in an Over, Sreesanth's sledging and enthusiastic and very expressive bowling , RP's cool line and length bowling, Dinesh Karthik 's catch of the tournament, or Dhoni's Leadership.. Was just a perfect finish to the final.. Chak Diya India... Whatever people might say , but we Indians love cricket more than anything..This is a Great year for Indian Sport altogether . Win in Nehru Cup in Football, Asia cup champions in Hockey and now this.. India Rocks!!!

In you Face!!!! Spurs !!

It was just a photo-finish in the recent English premier league Match when Tottenham Hotspurs hosted Arsenal in White Hart Lane.

Arsenal were trailing 0-1 at half time. Manager Arsene Wenger might have given a inspirational advice at half time, Arsenal came back strongly and blasted 3 goals in the second half, to eventually grab an away win 3-1. Emmanuel Adebayor scored 2 goals , 2nd Goal by Adebayor was a Cracker, as well as the goal by Fabregas. This was just the win all the Arsenal supporters were longing for. Well Of course, Arsenal survived some silly mistakes by the spurs. I would say it was a well deserving win!! Go Gunners !!!

1> Im Shashikant , Usually people call me Shashi, u can call it as my nickname.
Im a Doctor, and im proud to be one. Ive been given the chance to save lives. I want to serve the Society and people in whatever ways i can.

2> Twins - Ive a Twin brother. It always feels great to have a twin, u are the center of attraction always. We share a great rappo with each other. but peculiar thing is that, Since childhood, we never ever share clothes and other stuff. His belongings are His, Mine are mine. Very few stuff are ours. Strange Isn't it??

3> Patriotism - I am a very patriotic about my country. I love my country and countrymen and of course countrywomen too :) . I am very emotional regarding matters concerning India. I cannot tolerate any person maligning the image of my country . It just feels so proud to be an Indian. Jai Hind !!

4> Travelling & Adventure Sports - Though i cannot afford a lot of adventure sports. i love to do crazy stuff. Ive done Rock climbing, Mountaineering, Scuba Diving, Para gliding etc etc. not much of the stuffs. But ive enjoyed every bit of it. Scuba Diving was the best experience ever in Lakshadweep Islands which is one of the islands of India. Its like a New world Under the sea. I like to travel too. Its just great to pack ur bags and leave for a fully unplanned tour. when i start earning big bucks, I plan to spend quite an amount on Travelling to different countries. Adjacent is the picture of the Nemo fish, coming out of the corals, my friend captured it in his camera, taken in Lakshadweep. Isn't is Beautiful?

5> Love - I'l put up what I feel in one single sentence.
" Love Those Who Love You"

6> Accident prone - Since Childhood, Ive been so much accident prone. From head injury when i was One to bad bike Accidents few years back, I have been like on the edge of a cliff all the time. And the best part i have always overcome all these things to be successful till now. Its just made me a person with a strong will power. I just pity my parents who had to go through lot of stress through all my such ordeals... lol :)

7> Practical Life - I believe in Living a Practical life. I don't believe rebirths and past lives and all. I believe what you are today is all you have, don't rely too much on the past or the future. Life is short. Use it to the fullest.

8> My passions - i love football, cricket . And I am a die hard supporter of Arsenal Football Club. Not much into books. Love dancing , planning to learn more and more styles of dancing. And I Love to sing too.. But most of the time others hate to listen to me. :) . Last but not the least Girls :)

Well thats all i could remember about me rite now ... hehe..
