A Legend called Arsene Wenger!!

I wanted to write this article for sometime now. Im a big fan of Arsenal since the last 10 years . Ive seen this club change and evolve under the leadership of Arsene Wenger.
Arsene Wenger is now the longest serving manager in the history of Arsenal. He took over as manager of Arsenal after the Bruce Rioch in 1996. Since 1996, he has been at the helm of Arsenal's managerial position till now. With Wenger at arsenal, its not always been about trophies and accolades, but hes given unique memories and made up the career of many great players of this decade. Its been a pleasure for all the Arsenal fans around the world  to watch this team evolve in the last decade. 
There has been some special moments while he has been in Arsenal.
Arsenal's 1st double in 1998 season and the 2nd double in 2002
Making of Legend called Thierry Henry
Showcasing the awesome Dennis Bergkamp to the world.
2004 : The Invincibles. One of  the greatest achievement by Arsenal and Arsene.
The final stats read : Played 49, Won 36, Drawn 13, Lost None
FA cup victory in 2002.
Snapping Sol Campbell from arch rivals Tottenham , who later on became on of the successful defenders at Arsenal.
Dominance over Arch rivals Tottenham in the whole of last decade.
Runner up in Champions League 2005 -06 , because the run up to the final was just memorable with some great performances.
The Rivalry  with Alex ferguson and Manchester United has been really fulfilling to watch the competitive spirit between the 2 managers and both teams. Perhaps the most successful managers of English club football. Leave aside the rivalry, but both managers don't shy to give appreciation for each other.
The Belief of Arsene wenger in his youth policy, thereby unearthing some gems in to mainstream football like Cesc fabregas, Theo walcott, Mathieu flamini, and more recently Jack wilshere.
Its like Arsene Wenger was born to be at Arsenal, even his name is embedded in club's name. 
Theres more to write about Wenger, its just unending.. 

There has been some frustrating moments too in the last few years. many trophyless seasons, but finally we all gooners believe  " IN ARSENE WE TRUST "

Another disappointing game !!!

Yesterday, i met 2 fellow Arsenal fans, So we decided to watch the Arsenal game together.After a long time i was watching game wid fellow gooners. The game was against Sunderland.

As we were watching the game together, we were excited about the match, and we were confident we can grab a win, specially after the midweek trashing of cardiff. And the new boy Andrei Arshavin was going to make a debut. So we were even more excited.

As the game started, Arsenal made a good start, with couple of close chances, 2 of them from Arshavin. Van Persie missed a sitter in the opening minutes of the game, and i guess that cost us the match. The midfield were not that effective in creating chances for the strikers, And when they did , there was no one in the box to take that crucial headers. Van persie and bendtner totally looked out of place. Denilson and Song hardly created chances and game finally ended in a 0-0 draw. Arsenal's 3rd consecutive 0-0 draw in the league. Was really frustrating specially after a very good game in Midweek. Whats even more frustrating is wenger doesn't do anything about it. The formation is not suitable, there are not much penetrations, we can't take advantage of set piece situations, no free- kick specialists.

Only positive i can take from the game was Andrei Arshavin. he showed some lively spark at the beginning of the game. Hope he can blossom at the club.

Disappointing start to the season !!

The Arsenal team started off with the new season of 2008-09 with a disappointing loss to Fulham, only in the 2nd game of the season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger couldn't hold on to 2 very important players of the club as usual.. And Alexander hleb transfered out to Barcelona, Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan. Giving the club a title of a 'Selling Club'.
Not that you can't survive without these players, but you need more and more experienced players to win a seaon, not just youngsters. Arsene Wenger's policy to just buy youngsters, has been getting a lot of slack theses days, and after this loss, his policies will be more criticised.
Against a team like Fulham, who are by far one of the weakest teams in Premier league, Arsenal youngsters, completely looked like a bunch of school boys, trying to keep some possession. Of course gunners had their chances, but you got to convert those to win matches.. They looked totally out of place, there was no co-ordination between the players.
Its high time Mr. Wenger starts reconsidering his selection policies and game play and as soon as possible, or this season will again be like other trophy less season..

Another Disappointing Season

Ive been a big fan of Arsenal FC since bout 5-6 yrs... But this season's failure to win any titles hurt me the most.. Becoz the gunners were better than other teams almost the whole of the season.. In 1 month everytin changed.. A series of successive drawn games cost them the title.. . To make matters worse, we'l have to settle for the 3rd place in the English premier league and got knocked out of quarters in the Champion's League....
If u play badly n lose, it doesnt hurt u much. But if u play well and lose it hurts badly...
I think Arsenal Manager, Arsene wenger has to rethink his transfer policies, team selection n all.. Whts the use of 'Beautiful football' If u can't win any trophies.. After all thts wht u're actually playing for..
Ive started believing Arsenal can just nurture talent, but they can't hold on to them... Whts the use of bringing up a young talent if u can't make full use of the player.. Its been the case since a long time.. The charismatic Patrick Viera left arsenal for Juventus.. His presence in the team as a captain had a huge impact in the development of the team. Then the Arsenal legend Thiery henry left last season for barcelona.. the Names r plenty Sylvian Wiltord, Robert Pires, Sol Campbell, Lauren etc the list just goes on...
You need to have experienced players along with youth to win accolades.. not just youth...
Maybe thts why Manchester United and Chelsea have been very successful in the last few years..
I'l always be a Arsenal fan, but as a fan wud like the team to win more trophies not lose many..

Super Duper Sunday !!!

This Sunday is a big day in English Premier league... The top 4 teams go head to head against each other what could be a decider for the title race..













A tough game.. But i think the match will be a Draw 1-1 with liverpool showing some guts to salvage a Draw....
















This game would be Another cracker.. i would go for 2-1 win for Arsenal. I know some one wudnt agree wid me. :P Go Gunners....


Update:

Manchester United dominated the game and defeated liverpool 3-0

Chelsea Vs Arsenal was a very hard fought and physical game... Chelsea came back from a goal down to snatch a famous victory 2-1 the final score.. all goals coming in 2nd half. They moved to 2nd place 5 points behind leaders Manchester United...

In you Face!!!! Spurs !!

It was just a photo-finish in the recent English premier league Match when Tottenham Hotspurs hosted Arsenal in White Hart Lane.

Arsenal were trailing 0-1 at half time. Manager Arsene Wenger might have given a inspirational advice at half time, Arsenal came back strongly and blasted 3 goals in the second half, to eventually grab an away win 3-1. Emmanuel Adebayor scored 2 goals , 2nd Goal by Adebayor was a Cracker, as well as the goal by Fabregas. This was just the win all the Arsenal supporters were longing for. Well Of course, Arsenal survived some silly mistakes by the spurs. I would say it was a well deserving win!! Go Gunners !!!

Gooner in Me!!

Above picture is of the English Club ARSENAL Squad for the year 2007/08..
Since 5-6 years ive been a big fan of Arsenal. Arsenal players are also called as 'gunners' and the fans 'gooners', symbolizing the canon in the Arsenal Logo.. Last few seasons, they haven't been doing well, But this year they have started positively even without the famous Thierry Henry , who moved to barcelona.. They have won 3 matches and drawn 1 out of the 4 matches played..
This saturday is a crucial clash against London rival Tottenham hotspurs. Its called a Derby match. All derby matches r close encounters, with lotta expectations from fans n management. I hope they do well, and show spurs that they r a better team. My prediction is that Arsenal will win 2-1.. Lets see how the match goes.
Come on Arsenal !!!!

k now i to talk bout sumtin i love.... Arsenal Football club....wud like

well i love this club a lot... the new season is gonna begin in august, can wait for it... k this yr's gonna be really tuff.. even if we manage 2nd place i'l be really happy.... thierry henry , our main striker left for barcelona.. and not too many signings this yr too... so iam just crossing my fingers... well but Arsene wenger, the manager , has signed sum new faces... like eduardo de silva, bakari sagna n all.. .well they r quite young not expecting wonders frm them .. Just hoping these youngsters can miraculously revive our depleted side... lets see....
I hate to say this but Manchester united and liverpool have got sum really great players this time... they stand a more realistic chance for a shot at the title... Nevertheless miracles do happen!!!
We have this cool yet to be official Arsenal Mumbai Fan Club.... we have got cool jerseys made exclusively for our club.. .cant wait to get my jersey .... im really excited.. We r on the process of making this club an Official Arsenal Supporters' Club.... But it mite take a while... Though im not able to participate in the club events much, i keep posting my views in our orkut community... Well i just hope, the day is not far when the great Arsene Wenger visits our Club right here in Mumbai..... Wow , that will be like 'legendary'....

I am an ardent fan of the English football Club.... Arsenal also called as gunners..... wid the lights of great international players like thierry henry, partrick viera, david seaman, jens lehmann, dennis bergkamp, both past and present, the club has rejuvenated under the leadership of the present manager Arsene Wenger.... Hes really amazing he has a great insight for talented players..... players come to arsenal n become all time heroes..
Arsenal started this season badly, wid draws n 1 loss.... but slowly got back to form from a champions league victory over Hamburg FC.... And totally geared up after the 1-0 victory over all time rivals Manchested United....
Now they r totally in form.. wid henry gettin into scoresheets.... theyre better thn ever...
Today they'l face Charlton... lets see how the match goes.... i feel we'l win 2-1 lets see......
