Happy Birthday to Me!!

Yesterday 10 th October 2008, was my birthday. In between my busy work schedule, i suddenly realised that its my bday on 10th.. well it actually made me realise im getting old :)
Had a mixed day yesterday. Since morning, i was missing my family and friends in bbay, missing celebrating my bday wid my twin bro. Well my bro sure had a good time wid his friends yesterday. It was kind of getting depressing that i was not able to celebrate my birthday with the people i wanted to. Well then at the end of the day, i planned a small , well not so small party with my colleagues and ended up having a good time with them. Overall it wasn't that depressing bday as i did imagine.. Though i din't get any gifts or cakes, but then i realised, im too old for cutting cakes and gifts rite now. Nevertheless, who doesn't like to be pampered with gifts on their bday. After all for one day u are the centre of attention among everyone. In my case, none of my colleagues knew, so i had to inform them to get some attention :P

Family and Friends !!!

Its great to meet your family and friends after long time. Sometimes we get so tied up in this materialistic world, that we dnt acknowledge the presence of important people in our life. Life revolves around relationships which need to be nurtured like a young sapling. Give the people important in your life their due. Respect those who care for you, without asking you anything in return. Realise the importance of friendship in your life. Dnt be shy to show your love, respect, care to people who matter to you. Even though its just a small handshake or hug, might make a big difference to someone's life.
Life is short, make full use of it. Dnt fight, make peace, love each other. Show your close ones, how much they mean to you. Reciprocate the caring and love.

Kill those terrorists !!

In the recent times, terrorist attacks in india has become a usual thing.
Yesterday,  The news of serial blasts in the capital city rocked the country. The pain and shock echoed in all the news channels yesterday night.
Its really shocking to believe these serial blasts occurred within just 2 months since the serial blasts in bangalore and ahmedabad. Though bangalore blasts dint claim much of life and property, Ahmedabad blasts were detrimental, many lives lost, one blast among them occurred within a govt. hospital where patients were being treated, many doctors too lost their lives..
Similarly  yesterday's delhi  blasts have shaken the whole country's intelligence system. Almost 20-25 dead and more than 100 injured. Who is to blame for all this happenings. Why isn't our intelligence bureau, vigilant enough to take good precautions. Why is the intelligence network so weak, that any damn fellow can easily carry out such high intensity blasts without govt. officials knowing about it. Yes it is difficult to keep track of country with huge population like ours.. but thts not the excuse, we have the resources, but don't utilize our networks well. Finally all the investigations die out in a month or so. there is no continuous tracking of terrorist activity in the country.. A group 'Indian mujahideen' has supposedly claimed their role in the blasts, by sending email to all the news channels and the govt. calling their operation as 'BAD'.  bangalore, ahmedabad, delhi as complete after delhi blasts and tht next target is mumbai. These muslim extremists are spoiling the name of the religion, by committing crime in the name of Allah and Islam.

Finally the common people suffer, lose their lives...  Just can extend my condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. We need to stand together and fight against terrorism as a country, and crack down on these anti-social elements..

N - Powered India

06/09/2008
This Day is a historic day for India, with regards to foreign policy initiatives in Indian Political history which have been successful. The Nuclear Suppliers' group (NSG) agreed to grant India a "clean waiver" from its existing rules, which forbid nuclear trade with a country which has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in Vienna.
The Whole nuclear deal saga, which our Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh said, 'Its a deal for which you can even sacrifice the Government' , sort of came to an end with the waiver from NSG. But then thers more to it. Still the issue, that if india conduct the nuclear tests, will the agreement will be terminated immediately, is still not clear..
But there are many positives out of this waiver
First of all recognition of India, as a emerging superpower among the other developed countries. That can be clearly seen by the desperate attempts made by US to get a waiver, by convincing other members of NSG. Besides the whole formation of NSG was because of India's nuclear test at Pokhran in 1974. The same NSG has bend thier rules to accomadate india into the mainstream nuclear countries, thereby giving a green signal for nuclear trade itself is more than a historic day for India in World Economy..
What this deal means India can carry out nuclear trade, which will help big time replinishing our fuel resources. It wil also allow access to sensitive hi-tech nuclear power which serves industry and help some sectors like Pharma, Defence, Manufacturing, IT, Space etc. There will be more easier access to Nuclear technology.
With this nuclear deal and NSG waiver, Its not only improved ties with the US, but also with other major powers like Germany, France, UK, Russia, Japan. At the same time, ties with China may have taken a backstep. The unexpected objections taken by China against the waiver in the NSG meeting could be indicative of some cold relationships with the neighbours.
Nevertheless, even with its pitfalls, the 123 Indo-US nuclear deal and NSG waiver came as a welcome deal for India. And i would say its a win win situation for India atleast as of now.
Our Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has envisaged himself as a able leader of the country through the trust vote in the parliament and Nuclear deal.
Now hopefully the US congress also approves the 123 pact and the deal is expected to be signed at the end of this month. India wil also sign similar pacts with other Nuclear Suppliers.

Let Kids be Kids..

In this era, every parent wants his/her children to be best at everything. Children these days are pressurized so much to be perfect in every field.
Even the schools don't spare children, the study material is so advanced for a child's age. for eg. a pre-school child has to learn all basic subjects like mathematics, science , social sciences n all crap. I mean why does a pre-school child need to learn so much. And if a child doesn't do well, parents think the kid is abnormal.
Parents nowadays want their children to be best in all fields. Impose them with dance classes, Swimming classes, guitar classes for a 5 year olds.. I mean let them enjoy their childhood, their innocence, don't push children into the competition world right from the tender age. Anyway they have to face the cruel competitive world when they grow up..
Parents don't realize each child is special, everyone has their own good qualities n bad qualities, n what if ur child will not become a big shot doctor, or a company CEO n all, atleast they'l be themselves, happy to work what they r good at.
Let them grow in their own world of innocence and simplicity...
Life is not going to end in a single day, theres whole lot of time, let them learn life the natural way, don't impose life's values on them.

Disappointing start to the season !!

The Arsenal team started off with the new season of 2008-09 with a disappointing loss to Fulham, only in the 2nd game of the season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger couldn't hold on to 2 very important players of the club as usual.. And Alexander hleb transfered out to Barcelona, Mathieu Flamini to AC Milan. Giving the club a title of a 'Selling Club'.
Not that you can't survive without these players, but you need more and more experienced players to win a seaon, not just youngsters. Arsene Wenger's policy to just buy youngsters, has been getting a lot of slack theses days, and after this loss, his policies will be more criticised.
Against a team like Fulham, who are by far one of the weakest teams in Premier league, Arsenal youngsters, completely looked like a bunch of school boys, trying to keep some possession. Of course gunners had their chances, but you got to convert those to win matches.. They looked totally out of place, there was no co-ordination between the players.
Its high time Mr. Wenger starts reconsidering his selection policies and game play and as soon as possible, or this season will again be like other trophy less season..

I Know .....

I saw you after a long time you were waiting alone in the cafe..
I could see that sparkle in your eyes
when u saw me, walking on the alley-way
I could see that beautiful smile
When i waved at you
I know ...... that you were waiting for me..
When u came close to me,
My heart started beating faster,
Into never stopping arrythmias,
I know ..... you were feeling the same...
When u started talking
there was the same sweetness in ya voice...
so soothing like music to my ears..
Just wanted to keep listening..
I know ...... i couldn't hear anything else...
With every glance you gave me that real rush
I rose up in my seat feeling so blush
You flashed me your brilliant smile

felt like staring at you all the while
Watching you near after a long time..

I know ..... things wouldn't be the same...
Every hour with you was like a second
time flew by, but couldn't take my eyes of you.
The longing of my heart, the curiosity of my mind,
wanted to know more, know more about you
i know ..... time wouldn't be enough..
Goodbyes are never my favorite part,
Somewhere deep inside, felt incomplete
At one end was exalting joy,
other end was poignant sadness..
But it was time to face the truth.
I know ..... i would never be with you..

Death - Hardest Part of Life

Why is Death so difficult to deal with. After all everyone has to die some time in life. But we humans are so entwined with emotions, its difficult to part from your loved ones.
As Doctors, we have to go through lots of deaths of patients. Its not easy to face death. Though we are not related to the patients, it hurts when a patient dies. After all he/she is a father, mother, brother or sister to someone. Breaking the news of death to relatives is the hardest part of any doctor's profession. We try best to save someone but many times its not in our hands. No one likes deaths, its painful, but we have to just get on with our lives.
Ive seen so many young , old patients wid small to grave problems. Sometimes i can't understand the ways of God or Mother nature. Ive seen young 7 month old babies wid such grave tumours, bigger than the size of football. what wrong the young child has done to get such a bad condition, such a life which ended even before it started. It hurts to see the hope in the mother's eye that her child will be cured eventually, which we know its not possible. Thts why we say, enjoy your life to the fullest, make good use of your life, help people, who knows whats in store for you tomorrow.
Life is cruel sometimes. We should rather be happy with what we have. Well yeah Death is the end of life, and hardest part of life. but for some Death maybe the best part of life.
